We were contacted by the customer to initially 3d scan a tail light cluster. It was their first venture into utilising 3D Scanning.
On receipt of the data, they quickly realised the potential savings that could be made during their design process for customisation purposes.
As they are a Solidworks user, they are now trialing Mesh2Surface for Solidworks as this allows them to manipulate the stl data inside Solidworks and it allows them to integrate the scan data with their designs saving them significant costs on materials and man hours.
They have since requested 4 different vehicle 3d scans from us. This is just one example.
The customer has now seen the distinct advantages of 3D Scanning & the edge its given them over their competitors. Moving forward, they have completely embraced the technology and will continue to do so in the future.
