Project Description:
We were approached by a Landrover enthusiast who’s interested in converting his 1964 Mk 2 Landrover to electric powertrain solution. Having never had any exposure to 3D Scanning he was a little uncertain of what could be achieved utilising a 3D scan.
We run through the process and sent him some sample scan data as his intention is to design the electric motor interface using Fusion 360 cad system. We visited his workshop as he also wanted a partial scan of his new chassis as well.
The first component the client wanted scanning was the exterior of the transfer box. The client had a perfect workshop for his projects which included a Lotus restoration project so it was an ideal place to scan.
We placed the component of our rotary table and scanned the part.. It was an ideal scenario as the client was present throughout the 3d scanning process so he was able to tell us exactly what data was critical to him.
